Who We Are

Allie Rowley (she/her)

Founder/Manager

Rowley Wrench was founded by Allie Rowley, a queer, self-taught mechanic and car enthusiast with a deep belief in the power of knowledge, community, and greasy hands. After years of navigating an industry that often talks down to women, excludes queer and trans folks, gatekeeps basic information, and overcharges customers who are just trying to make ends meet, Allie decided to build something different—something better.

Rooted in her own experience learning to fix cars as a hobby and working as a Service Advisor at a repair shop, Allie created Rowley Wrench as a space where Vermonters from all walks of life can feel safe, seen, and empowered under the hood.

She dreams of eventually opening a non-profit repair shop focused on expanding equity and access to car knowledge and mechanic services.

Our Services

  • We host various Q+A sessions across Chittenden County to answer any and all of your car related questions. General mechanics questions? Shopping for a new car and not sure what suits your needs? Not sure how to change a tire? Wondering where to go in the area for an oil change? Curious why your car is making that sound? We will do our best to answer!

  • Your basic car maintenance skills and concepts… things you don’t want to pay the mechanic for if you can do it yourself!

  • Love cars but struggle to feel included in the car community as a marginalized individual? Come hang out with us!
